Ghanaian fast-rising star, Black Sherif, has currently garnered 20 Million streams on the music streaming platform, Boomplay. Black Sherif has released nine songs on Boomplay with the two popular songs being his First and Second Sermons.

Black Sherif has had a phenomenal year; we are proud of him. Black Sherif has had the Number 1 song on Apple music Top 100 Ghana. Black Sherif’s “First Sermon” became Number 1 On Apple Music Top 25 Accra.

Black Sherif has also received support from Sarkodie, Criss Waddle, and Edem projecting him as the next big Artist to go mainstream in Ghana.

Adding to the number of hit songs this year, Black Sherif has released three singles and has been featured on numerous viral hit singles.

In February, Black Sherif released “Ade Akye” his debut single for the year. According to Black Sherif, “though it is a sad song, it will not put you in your feelings or make you cry but rather ginger you to get off your seats and hustle.”

Black Sherif in March decided to release “Ankonam”, a follow-up to his February single. ‘Ankonam’, which translates as a loner, is a mid-tempo song that describes the struggle of a poor man who has been on his own due to his condition. Black Sherif, who is known for his powerful and soothing voice together with his touchy lyrics, effortlessly tells the story to perfection.

Later in June, Ghanaian-UK producer Jae5, who has been exploring new sounds and finding the best new act to work with from Africa, after creating magic tunes with Nigerian Artist Buju, approved of Black Sherif’s trap music style.

In a reply to a video of Black Sherif’s “First Sermon”, Jae5 quoted the Tweet saying “This is fxcking hard.”

“I am not the best, I am the one” – Sarkodie says

Published

on

“The lizard that jumped from the high Iroko tree to the ground said he would praise himself if no one else did.” The quote is from the book f Things Fall Apart by the renowned Nigerian writer Chinua Achebe.

Perhaps riding on the above-mentioned proclamation by the African celebrated novelist, Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has accordingly blown his own trumpet

That is to say, after so many years in the music industry with hit songs and countless awards, Sarkodie says he is not only the best when it comes to the craft but he is in fact, the one, ceteris paribus!

In a tweet on Sunday, November 28, 2022, Sarkodie wrote “I’m not the best, I’m the one”.

Sarkodie’s claim to be the one has been accepted by “SarkNatives”, but those who have mad love for good music built on thought-provoking lyrics, Sarkodie is not the one as he erroneously envisaged.
