Which Ghanaian Artiste Gets A BET Nomination 2020?

Published

on

Most Ghanaian artistes have worked well in the year 2019, but taking the works of 3 strong competitors in the music industry in 2019, we ask, who get a BET nomination?

The BET Awards is an American award show that was established in 2001 by the Black Entertainment Television network to celebrate African Americans and other American minorities in music, acting, sports, and other fields of entertainment over the past year.

2020 BET awards nomination which was scheduled to have been announced early this year has been postponed due to the global coronavirus pandemic the world is facing.

Livingstone Etse Satekla globally known as Stonebwoy, president of the Bhim nation, in 2019 as usual made Ghanaians proud with his consistency in his field of work. Proving to be a tuffseed, he kept his head high with his hardwork.

He got patrons on their feet by feeding them with songs like Shuga, TuffSeed, Ololo and also won 2 awards at VGMA’19, 1 at Afrimma’19, 1 at Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, 1 4syte Music Video Award, 2 at Ghana Entertainment Awards, USA and 1 Billboard plaque.

He performed on 56 MAJOR events across the globe, 36 events in Ghana, which includes his annual Ashaiman to the World and Bhim Concert, 1 in Nigeria, 1 in Gambia, 3 in USA, 1 in Portugal, 1 in Kenya, 1 in Austria, 1 in Sweden, 2 in Holland, 1 in Spain, 3 in England and 4 events in Germany.

Micheal Owusu, known as Sarkodie, the ‘Highest rapper’ as his fans affectionately call him gave Ghanaians the hope to trust in him, however, the Ghanaian Artiste of the Decade maintained his consistency by releasing a number of songs and even albums.

Some of his songs released last year included, ‘Saara’ which featured Efya, ‘Bleeding’ and ‘Ofeetso’ amongst several others. He also released the ‘Alpha’ album and also headlined his annual concert dubbed ‘Rapperholic.’

His enormous contributions to the Ghanaian music industry earned him some recognition in 2019 as well. Sarkodie was crowned winner of the BET Best International Flow Award in October.

Charles Nii Armah Mensah, called Shatta Wale in showbiz, on the other hand, did tremendously well in 2019. He got featured by international act, Beyonce on her ‘Lion King album’.

The African Dancehall King won 4syte award, Most Influential Artist in Africa, won the Artiste of the Year at Uk music awards and also won big at 3music Awards with 8 Awards.

He also thrilled the public with good tunes such as Melissa and the Wonder Boy Album and was also crowned the brand ambassador for Infinix phones.

However, the accounts for each artiste stands to be corrected, but the question remains, who get the 2020 BET nomination for Ghana?
