S/R: 8 dead as GHS issues yellow fever alert

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has issued an alert following the death of eight people in the Savanna Region in a feared yellow fever outbreak.

The GHS, in a statement, said it “received interim laboratory results of an unusual disease from the Savanna Region of the country that has led to the death of eight (8) people”.

“The disease is presumed to be yellow fever and samples have been shipped for final confirmation”, the statement said.

It noted: “Tests for other Viral Haemorrhagic Fever like Ebola, Lassa, Marburg and Zika are all negative”.

The affected persons are nomads in selected communities in West and North Gonja of the region who have never been vaccinated against yellow fever”.

“A person with yellow fever may have fever and jaundice in the early stages and later on bleed from any of the body openings (e.g., nose, mouth, bloody stools, Vomiting Blood)”, the statement said.

The GHS has urged the public to take the yellow fever vaccine, which offers lifelong immunity.

Alternative, the GHS has advised the public to prevent mosquito bites by wearing clothing that cover all parts of the body.

The GHS also said a team of experts including those from the World Health Organization and the Center for Disease Control have been dispatched to the region to investigate the development and come up with appropriate recommendations for action.

Just in: UPSA students dismissed over an alleged 3some lesbianism act (details)

Two female students at the University of Professional Studies, Accra,  have been expelled from the school’s hostel for allegedly engaging in homosexuality after they were involved in a three-some sexual activity.

According to a notice by the school,  sighted by Starrfm.com.gh, during the 2nd batch of the 2021/2021 academic year, 2nd-semester hostel stay, two female resident students and one male non-resident allegedly engaged in the activity.

The notice further explained that the two female students fondled each other in acts described as lesbianism.

“Engaging in acts of lesbianism is contrary to Section 1.28.11(g) of the Student Handbook of the University of Professional Studies, Accra; 2018 and Schedule G 8.3 (23) of the Statute of the University.”

“They have since been dismissed from UPSA Hostel awaiting further sanctions from Management”. The school therefore urged students to “desist from sexual misconduct and observe all other rules and regulations in the Hostel as well as the Student Handbook. Any student caught infringing any of the regulations will not be spared.”

According to Prince Oheneba Kusi Kyeremateng, workers of Angel 96.1 are dumbfounded. All you could hear is wailing and sadness.

 Colleague Journalist Nana Kwaku Abrampa who works with the media broke the news on his official Facebook page.

“Oh Wofa Karikari Agyemang (a.k.a school boy) Damirifa due. You did your part. May your soul Rest in perfect peace till we meet again ” Abrampa wrote on Facebook with some crying emojis.

” Wofa Karikari Agyemang, why this time?” Another Journalist Izay Man also posted on Facebook.

It’s however unclear about what exactly took away the soul of such a hardworking Journalist. Wofa Karikari Agyemang could be remembered by his professional handling of interviews on Angel FM.

Man’s pєŋis remains erəcted after Uɤɨŋatiŋg on Komfo Anokye’s sacred shrine [Watch]

The mαnh00d of a man has erəcted without cooling down after uɤɨnating at a sacred place at the Komfo Anokye shrine.

The action of the man and it related consequence has attracted hundreds of people to the Komfo Anokye shrine in Awukugwa.

According to Angel Fm reporter in the town, the man hails from Tutu and visited the shrine at Awukugwa yesterday.

At the shrine he asked for the sacred place reserved for Komfo Anokye, pulled down his shorts and started urinating.

After ʋriŋating, his mαŋh00d Erəcted amidst pains and till now, it’s still up.

While many are sympathising with him, some folks fo the town of Awukugua are of the opinion the man did that for ritual purposes.

Elders of Awukugwa have requested for the family of the man before they would appeal to the gods of the land to cure the man.
