Soldier Lashes Taxi Driver For Not Wearing His Nose Mask While Driving (Video)

Published

on

A soldier has ensured that a taxi driver observes the covid-19 protocols by giving some hot lashes for not wearing his nose mask while driving in town.

Recall, the President, Nana Akufo-Addo during his most recent address to the nation on the deadly coronavirus called on security and law enforcement agencies – if possible use rigorous means – to ensure that citizens adhere to the covid-19 protocols by wearing their nose masks whenever they step out of their rooms.

Though the police service has been arresting some persons who flout the orders of the president with regards to the compulsory wearing of nose masks, some persons are still not adhering to the protocols.

One of such is this taxi driver who met his own doom when he was driving in town without his nose mask on the afternoon of Sunday, January 24, 2020.

Unfortunately for him, he met a military man who was on duty to ensure that citizens complied with the protocols.

The soldier, instead of arresting him, rather laid the taxi driver on his bonnet and gave him some hot lashes as a punishment for failing to wear his mask while driving in town.

20-Year-Old Man Arrested And Imprisoned For Leaking ‘Sex Tape’ Of President Buhari’s Appointee, Chief Willie Amadi

Published

A 20-year-old school leaver, Peter Nwoke has been arrested for allegedly leaking a ‘sex video’ of lawyer and Federal Commissioner of Imo State Office of Public Complaints Commission, Chief Willie Amadi naked in a room with two girls.

The 12-second ‘sex tape’ suggested that the appointee of President Muhammadu Buhari had a threesome, but it was gathered that his picture was superimposed on a background with a sex scene.

Imo police spokesperson, Orlando Ikeokwu confirmed the arrest of Nwoke and also revealed that he admitted leaking the video. Explaining why he did it, the suspect said;

I asked him to come to Umuogbor Isuobishi, Isunjaba in Isu LGA to collect the phone and he came, collected and gave me N40, 000. Before then, I had transferred some information from his phone to mine which included pictures he took in a swimming pool.

When he left, greed and the devil came into me. I thought I should make more money from him seeing his car and realising that he is a big man, I decided to superimpose one of his pictures on a background with a sex scene to force him to negotiate settlement with me.

When I called him several times, and he did not answer my calls, I became angry and decided to send the pictures out through the Internet.

Three days after, I was at a joint with some people, when the police arrested me and I was taken to court. I confessed to the act at the police station because I did not know that what I did would bring such a big problem to me.I begged him to forgive me and promised not to do such a thing again.

When the matter was called up in court, Nwoke pleaded guilty to the charges. The Magistrate, His Worship, C. P. Nnoromele who presided over the case found him guilty of defamation under Section 373 of Criminal Code, Cap C38 Laws of the Federation 2004 as applicable in Imo state.

Nwoke was thereafter sentenced to one-year imprisonment by the Magistrate who said it “would serve as a deterrent to other young people who may be threading on such dastardly path”.

Nurses, teachers among 75 arrested by Police for breaching Covid-19 protocols

Published

The Goaso Police Command has apprehended 75 persons in the Ahafo Region for flouting the Covid-19 safety protocols.

Among the 75 in the custody of the Goaso Police Division are health workers (nurses) and teachers.

The arrest follows a directive from President Akufo-Addo to the Inspector-General of Police to apprehend all persons who fail to wear face masks in public spaces or gatherings after the country saw a surge in the number of Covid-19 cases recorded.

Speaking to Adom News reporter Sammy Asare, ASP Danso Abeam said he was shocked when reports brought to him on persons apprehended included nurses and teachers.

According to him, it is worrying to note that persons who per their line of duty should know better are part of the culprits breaking the law.

“I was shocked this morning to see teachers and hospital staff who even work at the emergency ward as part of the persons arrested.”

ASP Danso Abeam disclosed that the number of people who fail to adhere to the safety protocols is alarming.

“Even those who pass through the community to other places can be seen in face masks,” he added.

He, therefore, urged all persons to put their lives first by wearing a face mask since the police will continue to arrest offenders.

The 75 persons have been released on bail with substantive sureties.

The head of the Goaso Police Division indicated that sanctions to be meted out to the 75 persons would be determined by the Ahafo Regional Command on Monday, January 25.

In similar events, some 85 persons are in the custody of the Koforidua Police Command for not complying with the Covid-19 protocols.

The offenders were released after receiving warning letters.

Also, Police at the Tesano Police Station have arrested 200 persons for failing to wear facemask in public areas.

Presently, the country has 2,799 active cases and 361 deaths recorded, according to the Ghana Health Service (GHS).
