Supreme Court Judge attempted to bribe NDC MP to vote for Prof Mike Oquaye – Muntaka Mubarak

Published

on

Chief Whip of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Caucus in Parliament has accused a Supreme Court judge of trying to influence the outcome of the Speakership elections for the 8th Parliament.

Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka who was speaking on JoyNews’ The Probe on Sunday, alleged that a very prominent judge contacted an NDC MP; offering an inducement should the person vote in favour of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Speaker nominee, Prof Aaron Mike Oquaye.

According to him, although the judge’s motive was not achieved, the party will probe the issue and take the appropriate steps if necessary.

“Shamefully, a Supreme Court judge called a lady colleague telling her what they will give her, if she votes for Prof Mike Oquaye. He told her that, they will help her take care of her children, she can take fuel from a filling station for free for the next four years.

“So we [NDC] are going to look into it. We will look at the time he made those calls,” he stated.

The Asawase MP was, however, elated his colleagues stood their grounds and did not fall for the influence of the NPP.

He revealed in the interview that he spent about two weeks convincing the NDC MPs to vote for Alban Bagbin as the Speaker of Parliament.

Explaining that although the former Nadowli Kaleo MP was from their side, there was no guarantee that all members of the party would be happy with his nomination.

“We were trying to let them understand that this was in our national interest to get a Speaker on the other side so that we can put a check on the executive.”

“And I spent almost two and a half weeks after the election trying to reach out to as many members not only on our side but on the other side as well,” he said.

Former MP for Nadowli Kaleo, Alban Sumana Bagbin of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was elected Speaker of the 8th Parliament of the Fourth Republic after a long chaotic process that lasted over nine hours.

Keenly contested by Prof Mike Oquaye, the oldest serving MPs polled 138 votes against his predecessor’s 136 with one legislator failing to vote.

Mr Bagbin makes history for being the first Speaker of Parliament who is not selected by the governing party.

Shocking: NDC’s Dark Secrets Revealed

Published

on

There seems to be division in the camps of the National Democratic Congress(NDC) as members of the aforementioned party have begun leveling out allegations against each other. Issah Mahmud Ali, The Techiman South Communications Officer of the party has accused Abdul Hameed Zakaria and other leading members of forgery among other heinous acts.

“Election Director forged the signature of the Seconder, Mariam Jibreel on the nomination Forms. Bin Laden lied and convinced the Constituency Chairman and the Parliamentary Candidate of Techiman South to sign a letter directing Techiman Municipal Director of Electoral Commission not to deal with the Constituency Secretary, Suleman Twih Brempong, in terms of election correspondence because he cannot be trusted. All these evil and outrageous tactics were propagated against the Constituency Secretary and the party,” he disclosed in an article spotted by MyNewsGh.com.

“Comrade, what will shock you is that there is this one particular polling station D\A Primary School, Ahansua 1B which brought all the confusion. The Election Director, Bin Laden, told the whole world that, NDC Polling Agent was severely beaten and that he could not get the Pink Sheet from the Presiding Officer. He also told us that, at the Collation Centre, only NPP had Pink Sheet from that Polling Station.”

“Comrades suffice it to know that, all these were fabricated by Bin Laden, the self-acclaimed all-knowing master of election. He was deceitful, the hope of Mr. Christopher Beyere Baasongti’s victory after painting some experienced personalities blacked,” he further revealed.

“According to our Polling Agent, Mr. Ati Solomon, he submitted his Pink Sheet as early as 8 AM, Tuesday, December 8, 2020, to Bin Laden, through one Issaka, at the Collation Centre. Now the big question we should all ask the self-acclaimed all-knowing Election Director is that, why did he hide the Pink Sheet at that critical moment at the Collation Centre? Why did he lie that, there was fight when actually there was no fight at Ahansua D\A Primary School?”

“His frivolous excused was that he refused to show our duplicate for collation because EC who are the custodian of Pink Sheets did not have the original. But since NPP were having their duplicate, he could have shown our duplicate for comparison and acceptance if the two are the same. These could have safe us from all the hullabaloos that, EC unlawfully declared the parliamentary results in the Techiman South Constituency, which was the cause of shooting and killing of innocent souls. May the Almighty Allah grant the souls of our departed heroes Al-Jannah.”

“This should tell us that, the trickster, Election Director after selling the seat to NPP deliberately refused to show our duplicate Pink Sheets for collation.”

“Comrades we should all wise up with the game plan of this Bin Laden. He is playing game with our toil and hard work in the 2020 election victory for JM and Chris,” Mahmud Ali deduced.

These allegations, should they be true, would shed light on the misdoings of the party.

Supreme Court Threatens To Dismiss NDC’s Petition

Published

on

The Supreme Court has threatened to dismiss the NDC’s petition if John Mahama and his legal team continue to disregard its orders.

This comes on the back of the refusal of Mahama’s lawyers to file witness statements and other relevant materials at the Court’s registry on Thursday, January 21, 2021, as ordered.

On the day the former president was required to file the witness statements, he instead filed an application asking the Court to review its ruling after it dismissed his motion for interrogatories.

He also filed a stay of proceedings until his request for review was determined. Mahama on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, filed a petition before the apex court to challenge the outcome of the presidential race.

Akufo-Addo defeated Mahama in the election to secure another four-year term; collecting 51.302% of the votes cast against the latter’s 47.359%.

The True Story of Rawlings’ ‘Unknown’ Daughter

Published

on

Most Ghanaians have been raising questions about the truth in the story of Abigail Mawutor [Rawlings] who was seen by many for the first time at the funeral of former President Jerry John Rawlings claiming the late president was actually her father.

MyNewsGh.com has been speaking with some persons mentioned with knowledge about the matter and we have received clarifications that can only be confirmed or negated by a DNA test which Madam Abigail has said she is ready to subject herself to.

Aside her resemblance to Mr. Rawlings, this unknown 52 year old daughter of the ex-President reportedly has a daughter who very much like a carbon-copy of Zanetor Rawlings.

Some of the family members of Rawlings from the Volta Region who spoke under strict anonymity praised 52-year old Abigail because since the family found her, she had participated in most Agbotui family events and activities at Dzelukope as a recognized daughter of Rawlings but has never made the news. She has been low-key about it. They say she has been un-intrusive and never sought to create scene about it.

They believe her coming out ito the media is a form of grief as a result of lacking a chance to mourn her father properly, although there were things that should have been done before Rawlings died that couldn’t happen which would have saved the situation.

The Story

The story goes that in 1967, Rawlings in final year secondary school, aged 20 then, allegedly impregnated Rose Agbodzi Sende, an Ewe in Accra but originally from Togo. The young Rawlings allegedly pleaded with Rose to keep the pregnancy secret because his future was at stake, which Rose agreed.

In March 1968, Abigail was born to a single mother, the same year Rawlings, 21, was settling down as an Airforce Cadet.

Rose met someone willing to marry her and left her child Abigail with an old lady at Adabraka in Accra where the child grew up, knowing she had only a mother, and not knowing her father.

MyNewsGh.com sighted an Eyewitness who was her mate in Primary school and corroborated her story.

“I know this beautiful lady back in the days, she attended St Joseph Primary School at Adabraka. The rumours was rife then that Rawlings was her father.”

This will not be surprising because by the time Abigail would have turned 12, her “father’s” face and name was known nationwide, especially in the Adabraka areas where she lived with an old woman caretaker.

While it was rumoured her father was Rawlings, some of her caretaker’s neighbours spread rumours that she was a “fatherless bastard”.

Finding Her Father

In an effort to find her father as an adult, Abigail confronted her mother, Rose A. Sende about who her father was, whereupon she was told the whole story about what happened in 1967 and how Rawlings was her father.

Abigail has said in an interview that before her mother opened up about Rawlings, she had had numerous dreams involving Jerry Rawlings as head of state.

The young daughter started looking for Rawlings after her mother’s confession and found her way to Rawlingsfamily home in 2002 where she was accepted. A member of the family who spoke on strict condition of anonymity said prior to her appearance, they had heard from some travelers from Togo saying there was a lady at Lome claiming Rawlings was her father, hence meeting her was bound to happen somehow.

It must be stated that contrary to reports, no one in the family remembers any photograph Rawlings ordered circulated to find the girl. Several attempts to reach Grace Omaboe (Maame Dokono) for some additional facts was futile.

According to sources, when Rawlings was informed of her sudden appearance and claim, he neither denied nor confirmed it. However at various times, he enquired about her and on a number of occasions since 2002, he acknowledged her by sending her money for upkeep and to start a business.

It is not clear whether Rawlings gathered courage to inform his wife and her children about the existence of Abigail as a long lost but found daughter, if he accepted her.

We can therefore say that the story of the 52 year old Rawlings daughter could be true but has been a well-guarded open secret, unknown only to Rawlings nuclear family in Accra, if he didn’t inform them before his death. However, the Volta side of the family knew of her existence.

The facts summary

The basic facts as gathered by MyNewsGh.com are that Rawlings, born June 1947 completed Achimota O’Level in 1967 and joined the military academy at Teshie same year, before moving on to the air force the following year. Rose Agbodzi Sende allegedly got pregnant for him in 1967 and gave birth to Abigail Mawutor [Rawlings] in March, 1968.

Rose got married and left her child behind in the care of an old relative at Adabraka where the child grew up before later making efforts to reach out to the family in 2002 and has been with them until the larger public heard about her yesterday.
