‘NPP is a blessing to Ghana’

Published

on

A businessman and leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at Damongo in the Savannah Region has described the Party as a blessing in view of the tremendous transformational agenda it is undertaking to develop the nation.

Nana Kwame Aboagye said the Government had come to save the poor and needy emphasising that it was God sent with visionary leadership to alleviate the plight of the poor.

He said this after donating cash, grains and assorted drinks to some vulnerable groups at Damongo as part of his philanthropic work.

Fifteen women groups comprising about 400 women at Damongo received cash donations of GH¢2,000.00 each whilst the Redemption Orphanage at Damongo and Sawla Orphanage in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District received 10 bags of maize, 120 pieces of assorted drinks and a sum of GH¢1,000.00 each.

Nana Aboagye also donated GH¢2,000.00 to support one Madam Haruna Sayeba, who was suffering from a condition known as Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis or Stevens Johnson Syndrome, and needed financial support for treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

He said it took a visionary leader with the political will to withstand all odds to implement the Free Senior High School Policy, which was helping orphans and the less-privileged in society to access education.

He, therefore, called on the citizenry to give the NPP a second chance by renewing its mandate in the December 7 elections to enable it to work to improve the living conditions of all.

Nana Aboagye called for unity among polling station, constituency and regional executives of the Party to help secure another victory for it to continue with the good work.

“I launched Free SHS in 2015” Mahama

Published

on

NDC Presidential candidate John Dramani Mahama has said that he was the one that started FREE SHS programme in 2015.

He said even though he was the one that started it, NPP who didn’t have a clue of how to run it implemented it poorly and that’s why they rushed to introduce double track system, “I assure you, my countrymen, that within one year, I will cancel the double track.”

“We started the programme and the NPP came and continued it. Unfortunately, the implementation has been very poor, and so it ended us in double track,” Mahama said.

Mahama said this on his 3-day tour of Ashanti Region as he campaigns to win more votes at the 2020 election come Dec. 7th.

He said when voted back into government, “All the community day schools we were building, 200 of them, we are going to finish them so that all the children can get schools to attend.

“With the Community Day Schools we are building, we are going to add dormitory blocks for girls and boys so that those who don’t come from the community where the school is sited if they choose that school and they are posted there, they will be able to get a decent place to live and learn.”

NDC has cemented this sayings by Mahama with a post on Twitter.

“A reminder that John Mahama earned UNESCO accolade for starting Free SHS in September, 2015 .

Next NDC government will improve quality, expand access and eliminate double track in secondary education by completing the remainder of abandoned E-Blocks and building more schools”
