Spurs can still win the Champions League.

Published

on

Kane is fit and raring to go for the match, after missing Sunday’s 1-1 Premier League draw at Everton due to a virus.

“We are struggling to get wins over the line. Even on Sunday, we were 1-0 up, trying to hold on, it could have been a big away win and we obviously conceded,” Kane was quoted as saying in The Daily Star .

“We can’t quite get there, we can’t quite get over the line at the moment. It’s nothing to do with the fight in the squad. It’s just one of those spells. All we can do is try and put it right.

“Obviously, the Champions League campaign last year was so good for us. We got further than a lot of people thought we would.

“We’ve got to try to find a way of consistently winning games. We’re here to win trophies. If we can win one of the trophies we are still in, we will see that as a success.

“Can we still go all the way? I think so. You look at where we started in the group stage last year and where we got to, we proved a lot of people wrong. We’re in a better position now.”

Local players will receive an average monthly salary of GH₵1,500 under the NDC – Sammy Gyamfi

Published

on

Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi has revealed that local players who play in the Ghana Premier League would enjoy a monthly salary of GHC1,500 when NDC gets elected into power in the forthcoming 2020 elections.

For some years now, players have been calling for better conditions for local players to prevent them from leaving the local leagues to outside the country in search of greener pastures.

NDC has said in their manifesto that was released 2 weeks ago that they’ll come and make things better by setting up a sports fund. This fund is intended to support several sporting activities in the country.

The Communications Officer of the main opposition party said the sports fund will support football clubs to pay players at least GH₵1,500 as a monthly salary.

“The NDC will establish a sports development fund. The government will furnish the account with enough money and also generate some from cooperate bodies”, he said on Kumasi FM.

Every club that plays in the premier league will be supported with funds to settle player salaries, an average money of GHC 1,500 will be paid to each player.

“Every club that qualifies to play in the CAF Inter-club competition will also be supported. The inter-colleges games will also be supported financially with this fund.

“ However, clubs that transfer players abroad will give a percentage of the money they earn into the sports fund.”
